Stuffed Sun

Pattern made by Bryanna

I made this pattern as a mothers day gift for my mom. She really liked it, so I am going to share it with you.

Type: knit
Difficulty: Easy
Yarn weight: Worsted Weight
Needle type: 2 Normal needles
Needle size: US-6
Gauge: Doesn't matter because if you have a bigger gauge, you will have a bigger stuffed sun. Or a smaller gauge will make a smaller sun.

Sun Body (Make 2 in yellow yarn; knit side is right side) Cast on 16 sts. Work for 16 rows in stockinette stitch. Bind off.

Sun big points (make 4 in orange yarn; knit side is right side) Cast on 8 sts and work for 8 rows in stockinette stitch. Bind off.

Sun smaller points (make 4 in orange yarn; knit side is right side) Cast on 5 sts and work for 5 rows in stockinette stitch. Bind off.

TO PUT IT TOGETHER

Put the 2 body pieces together knit side in. Sew around it with yarn needle and matching yarn. Make it look like a circle. See picture. Leave small area open to turn inside out and stuff.

Turn inside out and stuff.

Sew the points into triangles. Fold the corners in and sew. See picture. The smooth side is the right side. Do this to all of the sticks. Sew sun points around the sun. Alternate between the bigger ones and the smaller ones.

Make face how ever you want. You can sew on felt and use embroidery floss to make the face.
